Eltherington Multi-Million Factory on Schedule

1st June 2016

Hull based Eltherington, supplier of architectural aluminium and fabrication services to the construction, modular and leisure home sectors is delighted to report its multi-million pound investment is on schedule to be completed in July 2016.

The second phase of the development will see two glazing factories move into one new 9,000m2 factory in August and Phase 3 will move its leisure cladding factory into the same building.

By the end of 2016 their Leisure business will be managed and produced from the new Hedon Road, Hull site. This investment is helping provide jobs for the local area and because Eltherington is keeping the main façade, the 1930s design of the building will be retained.

Interesting statistics about Eltherington’s new factory development:
• 250 men and women employed on the build
• 4000 cubic metres of cement
• 9000 square metres of floor space
• 12 metre high factory
• 40 kn floor strength
• 350 tonnes of steel
• 100 staff will work in the new building

Over the next two years, the Eltherington Group will be developing the Hedon Road site, formally “Seven Seas”, further with another purpose made factory to house its aluminium stockholding and architectural businesses.

The final phase will move all employees and processes to their new 11 acre site, which will mean all former buildings the company occupied at Dansom Lane South, for over 55 years, will be sold. Some of the factories on the existing site have been sold already.

Antony Eltherington, Group Managing Director, said: “After what has been and continues to be an exciting and exceptionally busy period for the whole of the Eltherington Group, we are delighted the new build site is moving according to schedule. Investing in a site that is double the size of our existing is an indication of just how much we have grown over the last few years. We are continually developing new systems and solutions which, combined with our exceptional team of staff, means we have outgrown our existing premises.”

The company has supplied a wide variety of architectural projects including rainscreen cladding at Bridgewater Place, Leeds, perforated aluminium at St Pauls, Sheffield and the window features at C4DI, Hull

Additionally, the company has recently completed their largest column casing project on the £800 million development at Birmingham New Street Station opened by HM the Queen in November 2015. The Eltherington Group Business Development Director, Michael Riding said: “Our new 11 acre site coupled with substantial machine investment will create more capacity for our growing customer base, more space for our employees and ultimately more jobs for the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region”
